How to prepare Chinese chives

Chinese Chives

What you will need

  • Scissors/snips
  • Chinese chive plant


  1. Snip about 5cm from the bottom of the plant and wash thoroughly before use.
  2. Add the chives to dumpling mixes, spring rolls, soups or simple egg fried rice towards the end of cooking, as a garnish.
  3. Once chopped the chives release their flavour so don’t chop until they are needed.
